Monday, August 27th, the schedule for today is to visit “Yobuko morning market” which is the one of the famous markets among three major markets in Japan, “Kazenomieruoka Park” where you can see Genkai Sea (Genkai-nada), “Yobuko squid” for lunch and going to Karatsu Castle. Leaving the hotel at 8:20am and going to Yobuko morning market first.

We arrived at Yobuko morning market at 10:10am.
It’s not so busy and not many products available but the atmosphere of the market reminded me of the country side so it was good.
I’ve heard that there is a grilled fish service when you purchase some and cook it straight away at the site but I am not sure if it is correct information or not because I didn’t buy anything.

Next, we visited “Kazenomieruoka park” but I forgot to take photos so please take a look at the view of Saga I saw from the car on our way to the next place for our lunch.

We had lunch at a Fish restaurant called “Genkai”, especially eating “Yobiko squid” which is the main purpose for this trip.
There was a fish-tank in the restaurant and you can enjoy fresh seafood. The restaurant also provides a large room or private room as well.

You can see a fisherman’s boat staying in the sea right in front of the restaurant.

There is a large fish tank and fresh “squid” is swimming around in the tank. We are going to have it from now on.

Here it comes, time to eat “Yobuko squid” at last.
It is very clear in color and you can see it swimming just before this.
My apologise for the photo our meals were almost gone but there were more variety of dishes. You can see “Yobuko squid” in the background of the photo. It was very delicious and all of my friends who came on this trip said “delicious” while enjoying the squid.

We were so satisfied with lunch and now heading to Karatsu Castle.
This Castle was also known as “Maizuru Castle and Terasawa Hirotaka, a retainer of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, spend for seven years to complete from 7th year of Keicho era (1602).

Usually people use the stone steps as in the photo, but I use a lift to skip the process to go up to Tenshukaku as I had bad legs. You should use the stone steps if you are healthy.

“Karatsu Castle” has still an imposing and dignified appearance.

Inside is a museum and you can learn the situation in those days.

Better view of the surrounding from the Tenshukaku.

It was a two day Kyushu training trip and we confirmed that “Fuku in Shimonoseki” and “Yobuko squid” are the Japanese cuisine you come here to eat once or even several times.
I couldn’t show the photo (I didn’t take it) but Fukuoka famous dish Mizutaki (Light Broth-based Hot Pot) was also delicious. Please try the meal when you travel to Japan. I guarantee that it has an amazing taste as well.
There are plenty of delicious foods in Kyushu and I will definitely visit other places of Kyushu when I found time to travel.

That’s it, I am going back home in Odawara from Fukuoka Airport via Tokyo International Airport.
Thank you for reading this.
