Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine was once a shrine for protecting the clan of Minamoto and Samurais of Kamakura.

As soon as I left Kamakura Station, I saw a big Torii on the left hand side. Passing the Torii, I entered a shopping street where there were many interesting shops. The main item of the shops were chopsticks and handkerchiefs. I bought three Japanese sytle handkerchiefs which will be send to my friends as a gift.

There were many tourist on the street though it was a weekday.

There is an even larger Torii at the end of the shopping street. From here, it is the entrance of Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine. The approach toward Maidono is straight. The approach of Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine is also called Wakamiya Oji which became narrower when get close to the shrine building. It is said that the approach uses illusions to trick your eye, it made the main building above the stone steps looked more solemn.

Because my company had bought me some new equipments, I have to carry these equipments where taking photos of myself. After taking photos, I also need to film some videos. I felt like that I had bought many new toys, the backpacks became so heavy, but I enjoyed the trip anyway.

Next to the Maidono building, there was a place for drawing fortune slips and prayer.

I took a photo of walking cleric.

There is also a Maruyama Inari Shrine in the Hachimangu.

Shirahata Shrine.

Genpei Pond

The weather was great, there were many tourists siting at the bank of the pond. Ducks in the pond, pigeons at the bank and human are together enjoying the warm winter day.

The Peony Garden next to the pond was in full blossom. After a hash winter, peony flowers now lively in blossom. Flowers are large, cumbersome petals, and indeed is grace rich.

After passing the Peony Garden, I passed a small bridge and reached Hataage Benzaiten Shrine.

There seems to have been occupied by pigeons. The ground, trees full of white pigeons.

Flags flapping in the wind around the entire island.
