Not so far from Shinjuku, there is a station called Ikebukuro (池袋駅) that is every shopping lover's dream. The Ikebukuro station (池袋駅) is surrounded by shopping streets which is popular among tourists. It is located in Toshima Ward (豊島区), nearby Shinjuku. To get to the Ikebukuro station (池袋駅) from Shinjuku get on the Yamanote Line (山手線), from Shibuya (渋谷駅) it is the same line as well, Yamanote line (山手線). it is about 10 minutes train ride. Tokyo has many faces, and Ikebukuro is probably one of the most colorful, and exciting.
Despite the continuous rain, recently I visited this area with one of my friends, and we both have found us desirable stores. Shimokitazawa is most popular among young people who are interested in shopping, art, music, or game centers. Nearby the Ikebukuro station there is the famous Sunshine city (サンシャインシティ). I recommend visiting here if you are looking for great quality shops at affordable prices. There is also plenty of famous cafes, and restaurants in the building, and its area in case you would like to have a delicious meal or coffee.
The Sunshine city (サンシャインシティ) is a building complex located in East Ikebukuro, featuring a variety of facilities including office buildings, amusement facilities, event space, shopping centers, and a hotel.
Besides the high-quality fashion stores, there is an aquarium which is just got renovated and upgraded. An observatory, and the famous Namja town, and J WORLD Tokyo.
"NAMJA TOWN is made up of 3 towns. The new and lively, Western-styled town where you can play various games [Dokkingham Plaza]. The old Japanese town from the Showa period spread with [NAMJA Gyoza Stadium] and [FUKUBUKURO DESSERT YOKOCHO] – [FUKUBUKURO 7 Chome Shopping Street].” “The indoor theme park where you can enjoy the world of ”ONE PIECE”, ”DRAGON BALL”, ”NARUTO” and more!” So basically there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
The Sunshine city has great seasonal events too. One of the upcoming events: “NAMJA Ghost Fes 2018” “From 18:00, ghosts will appear in NAMJA TOWN.
